Gloom Maws

Some beasts are born in darkness, others are forged in it. The Gloom Maws belong to the latter. Their origin is shrouded in secrecy and screams, birthed not in the wilds, but in blood-drenched breeding pits deep within the Norcferatu stronghold. It is said that these monstrosities were bred from ancient, winged horrors smuggled from the domain of the Blood God himself, then force-fed corrupted vitae, mutilated, and subjected to a brutal process of survival through slaughter. Only the most vicious survived. Only the most relentless were permitted to grow. And grow they did. Now, towering over men and horses alike, the Gloom Maws prowl the night skies. Their wings span wide as war banners, their claws thicker than scimitars, their fanged maws large enough to swallow a man whole. They are both beast and siege engine, terror and transport. Many Norcferatu commanders ride them into battle, believing the sheer horror they invoke weakens enemy morale before a single spell is cast or blade drawn. The Gloom Maw is more than a mount - it is a living weapon, a symbol of the grotesque ambition at the heart of the Norcferatu's campaign. And when it descends, it brings not just death - but despair.
