Notes and Lore

Notes

Demons are the servants of evil. More or less devoted servants of Zathroth, they cause strife and havoc wherever they appear. Their masters are known as Demonlords, Demon Overlords and Archdemons. They shout Sound CHAMEK ATH UTHUL ARAK!, which means "SACRIFICE YOUR BLOOD!", according to this book. You can use a Blessed Wooden Stake on a slain Demon for a chance to gather some Demon Dust (see: Demon Dust/Dusting).

Bestiary

The famous knight Apoc once wrote: "Demons are the most malevolent, powerful, and dangerous creatures in Tibia. In addition to their awesome physical strength, they can also use powerful spells, such as fireballs and fire fields. Especially dangerous is their gaze, which can produce beams of pure energy to annihilate their poor victims. Moreover, they drain mana off their victims, heal themselves and summon fire elementals as their vassals.Fortunately, Demons usually live in the deepest dungeons near hell but sometimes they appear also on the surface. When they do, they leave a track of death and destruction behind them. Nobody has ever been able to slay even one of these entities and only very few adventurers have survived an encounter with them."

History

* Demons previously had a chance to drop Magic Swords and Coconuts, but this is no longer the case. * With Update 7.0, its HP was raised from 5,500 HP to 8,200. * With Update 10.37, it no longer drops Double Axes. * As announced on OfficialNewsArchive 8284|March 04, 2025, the patch reduced the drop rate of Might Ring for this creature, thus changing its rarity from '''semi-rare''' to '''rare'''. ==== Mintwallin Spawn ==== left The first Demon appeared near present-day Mintwallin, south of the current city, and was significantly weaker than its modern counterpart. It was removed in an update between 1999 and 2000. Originally named '''Daemon''', it retained this name until Update 5.1 and had a slightly different appearance. This Daemon had 3,000 HP and granted 6,000 experience points. It resided on a level above Cavern City, south of Mintwallin. Initially, Daemons were pushable and could be trapped using items like Parcels and Flower Pots. Players around level 30 could kill them. The '''Daemon''' was inspired by the '''Ethereal Monster''' from ''Ultima VII''. ==== Demons Return to Tibia ==== left When Edron was introduced, Demons became available again, but only to players with a Premium Account. They received a new sprite, closely resembling their current appearance.
