Pirate Gunners

Pirates are the crime lords of the sea, always seeking to claim the wealth of others. Every ship requires a loyal crew, usually consisting of former sailors, escaped prisoners and treasure hunters alike. Each member has a specific role ensuring the ship remains functional and prepared for battle, even during the harshest conditions on the open sea. The pirate gunner operates the ship's artillery, often requiring a handful of men to operate a single cannon as they were in charge of aiming, firing, resetting, swabbing and loading the cannons. These weapons play a big part in naval battles, where the fight for precious treasure often cost many lives. Not only are these gunmen experts in ship-to-ship combat, they are often skilled at hand-to-hand fighting and also know there way around throwable explosives, which could devastate anything on impact.
