The Walking Dread is a towering relic of ancient warfare. Unlike the volatile Roaming Dread, it glows with a cold blue hue that seems to sap warmth from the air and vitality from the living. Its hulking skeletal mass is assembled from the bones of colossal beings whose extinction predates memory. Every step it takes resonates like the echo of forgotten armies on the march. Ancient tales speak of whole legions of these undead, unleashed by bonelords to erase kingdoms from the map. Most were lost to the ages, ground down by the relentless march of time. Yet some of their once vast numbers still lie buried in forlorn places, beneath ancient battlefields and forgotten strongholds. When one is unearthed today, it carries with it the terror of those lost wars. To face a Walking Dread is to feel history itself bearing down, the weight of battles fought before the first mortal kingdoms even rose.
